Your Trusted Legal Partner for Chinese Companies Entering Southeast Asia and Beyond
Welcome to Rajah & Tann China
Rajah & Tann Asia is one of the largest full service legal networks that brings together leading law firms with a presence across Southeast Asia and beyond, namely Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam; with each offering the highest standards of service to locally based clients while collectively having the capability to handle the most complex, technically challenging and multi-disciplinary regional and cross border transactions and to provide excellent legal counsel seamlessly across the region.
We have established strong connections and worked closely with prominent organisations in various industries, including large technology and electronics firms, financial institutions, real estate and construction companies, manufacturers, shipping and logistics providers, and government entities. Additionally, we are honoured to have been appointed as the Exclusive Legal Advisor to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Singapore.
Among them, the lawyers in the China Practice Group are bilingual or multilingual in English and Chinese. They are able to read, communicate, write and negotiate in English and Chinese, and are familiar with the legal background and business culture of China and Southeast Asia.
Recognised as the “law firm with one of the strongest China practices” by ALB China Law Awards, we are dedicated to achieving excellence. This dedication is reflected in the legal rankings we have received. We are the only Southeast Asian law firm to be ranked among the top eight international firms for IP (Copyright), Construction & Infrastructure, Shipping Restructuring & Insolvency and Taxation by China Business Law Journal. Hew Kian Heong, Head of our Shenzhen Representative Office, has been consistently recognised as an Eminent Practitioner in Construction by the Chambers Greater China Region guide since 2018. He was also acknowledged as a Thought Leader by Who’s Who Legal: Mainland China & Hong Kong SAR and a Leading Lawyer by the Legal 500 in Construction. In addition, Linda Qiao, Head of our Shanghai Representative Office and Mark Cheng, Co-Head of our China-Related Investment Dispute Resolution practice are also recognised as among China’s Elite Lawyers (Foreign Law Firm) by China Business Law Journal, bearing testament to our capabilities.
As a collective, we are the undisputed, go-to international law firm for investments into China and Southeast Asia.
